Customer said that the machine will work sometimes for a while and then one day when machine is turned on he gets an E051 error which appears to be something to do with horizontal registration motor or something that affects it and causes the code. Not familiar with this and wanted to come here first before taking whole machine apart. I understand the pickup assembly would have to come out first if motor or a gear needs to be replaced. Somebody please enlighten me. I will be very grateful for your help. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Re: IR330 with error E051
I've got two for you:
E051, E014, E901, E004, etc...... Erratic operation. There may be a cold solder joint on the composite power supply. Repair any cold solder joints, and reseat the connectors on the composite power supply
E051. The plastic gear on the horizontal registration shift motor (M9) splits. Replace the horizontal registration shift motor M9 (FH6-1253-000). To access, remove the pickup assembly & registration guide assembly. See service manual pg 7-36, 14-110, & 14-226.
Previous analog relatives like the NP-3050 would eventually dump enough toner on the horizontal registration sensor until the sensor was buried. The symptom was the image shifted about 25mm to the rear off the paper. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Updated part number is FK2-0144-000. Replaced many of these. Way easier on 2200 series.I've got two for you:

Re: IR330 with error E051
It sits right before registration. If I'm not mistaken on the 330/400's you have to remove the inner cover (that's a pita) and it's on a metal bracket that's held in with one screw and one connector in the rear. I'll scan you the instructions later todayComment
