i recently refurbished a c5045. new drum units, new itb assembly with new belt, ans everything else feed tires and so on. the only thing i did not change is the transfer roller, i am told that the transfer roller never goes bad and that is that. so says the man who signs my checks. if i print from the machine i get perfect prints. when the customer prints the copies come out with light lines on gray scale and when in color there is purple and faint yellow lines going across the page. i have added a attachment to show you what i mean. i tried to do the auto graduation adjustment and it has made no difference. although i am new to canon i am not new to refurbishing machine or color machine either. any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: c5045 print quality bad
Both the internal ( on the ITB assy you replaced ) and the 2nd external ( large foam type on RHS door ) transfer rollers do wear out and need replaced. That does not look like your issue on the attached scan. As said the deletions will more than likely dirty lasers. It is hard to see if you have other quality issues on that scan.
I only replace those rollers at failure, not on the counts.Yes, I am a nerd.

Re: c5045 print quality bad
it turned out to be corrupt file they were printing. after cleaning the laser units nothing had changed on the copies. so dig a bit deeper and the pdf file was no good. alot of time used up but at least ill know for the future that the laser units are spotless. thanks for the help.Comment

Re: c5045 print quality bad
Also as you said if you print to the machine "you get perfect prints"
On any make or model this is the same, if your test prints are perfect then suspect an original/PDF or driver issueLet us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!
