    C224 Control panel buttons

    Hi,

Customer called and said the 3 "hard" keys under touch screen are not working. One of these is the Fax/Scan button which they use all the time.

They ordered a new machine from me but it won't be delivered for a few weeks. Is there a work around for them to scan without using that button, just until new machine arrives? I don't have a C224 in shop to look at, only have "E" versions.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks

disassemble the keyboard and exchange the key you need with one that they don't use, on the electronic board or use a contact spray

C224 so it slides to the side to reveal the keypad?

As I mentioned it's the 3 keys under touch screen, nothing to do with the keys when sliding panel over.

I looked in user manual and see there is a screen with fax scan selection. Thought there was but took the customers word when they said there was none!

It's not really complicated. Tell them to press the MENU button (#2 in the image below), then if things are set up correctly, there should be a button for Copy, Scan/Fax, Userbox, etc. on the touch screen. If not, it can be programmed by looking at the attached PDF, but they will need access to the ADMIN area of the copier in order to do it.
