[Error Code] C558 returning Error C3B09

    Hi,

I am betting a returning error on a C558 - error C3B09. The error originally started roughly a year ago and went away, at that time a fixing unit and door switches were ordered but never fitted due to the code note returning after a few trouble resets in between the parts arriving.
this time we decided to swap out the device and supplied our client with a temp. C258 device which had no issues while on site.
we tested the C558 back in our workshop, no errors on either long or short runs, in between testing we replaced the fuser and door switches.
The C558 went back to site, however after a few days the error returned, it can be reset however my guess is, that it will return.

    Any ideas?

Replace the IH power supply and possibly the NF (noise) board as well. Both have a large clear fuse on them so check to see if they are intact. I've had one or both go bad on those 8 series. Can also be the coil but from my experience it's been the boards especially if they have bad power in the building.

Just a note... C658 heater are different than C558 My last one was both the heater AND the heater power supply (not the filter board to it's left. )

Might not be helpful, but just a few thoughts.

Since it worked fine at your office / shop, perhaps their wall outlet is not providing adequate power to the copier? Additional loads on the same circuit could be dropping the voltage down and creating havoc in the copier. Plug in a voltage meter in the outlet prior to power on the copier and watch for excessive voltage drop. Maybe monitor for a period of 10 to 15 minutes or so to see if something else on the line might kick in and drop it down. Also check to see if these codes are getting set at similar times of the day, which might also indicate something kicking on on a schedule.

Hi all, thanks for your support on this, the issue was sorted after plugging the device into one of the newer power lines in the office, suspect a faulty circuit, either way it's got sorted, thanks for your help

Another pro answer. I'm curious how many techs you are responsible for?

I have 4 field techs and an in-house machine assembly, setup and config guy that I'm responsible for.

                  Hello everybody.
A C558 was constantly experiencing this error in a customer's old installations. When the customer moved to other installations, the printer never had the error again.
The cause was the current oscillation.
