Klack klack klach... from Heater C-224e

Wasn't there a thread because of knocking noise from heating drive? Thanks advanced.

It's either fuser itself(most likely) or fuser drive.
    What is the total count?

Yes, 4 & 8 series fuser noise has been discussed on this forum many times but might not be able to find with this new website. 99% of the time the noise is from worn fuser bearings and happens even when machine is idle. Aftermarket bearings / parts are available to rebuild this fuser but it's not an easy fuser to rebuild.

Thanks to tsbservice and copyman. Total count is less than 180000. Next time I'll test a rebuild fuser. Noise is when machine is idle.

Not sure if you have had any jamming issues in addition to the noise, but CL8 in the fuser drive unit is a known problem, even at low volume. They make noise and prematurely wear out. One of the more common signs of issues with this clutch are a rust powder near the hinge area of the transfer/duplex unit. If you can see the rust powder there, the clutch is already in an advanced stage approaching failure. In early stages, you might see some powder on the drive gears or the clutch body itself, but you would need to remove the upper rear panel to see this.

No issues only noise. And I cann't believe that bearings makes every second klack. But I changed heater and noise is gone. Next days I'll change the 4 small bearings. And test again.

I bet small bearings will cure it. You can get KM OEM from another model. PM me if you need PN.

Agree CL8 is very common issue but usually for jamming not noise when idle. By the way there is a short cut procedure to replace this clutch. I can post if anyone wants it.
