Check to see if trouble unit isolation is turned on for the RADF, scanner, ect. I would also print a management list from service mode. On the list hopefully it will give a more useful error. Usually I've seen that message when a unit has been "enabled" in trouble unit isolation setting.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

just do a trouble reset. turn off main switch, hold panel reset and turn on. (wait for beep and dot on screen)
trouble reset will show up. touch it, wait for OK and reboot and see if code returns.

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
      The medication helps though...

I'd still want to know what the actual code was. You will find it on the management report. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Absolutely agree.

It's under "System 1" -> "Problem Unit Isolation set".

Were you able to print a management list from service mode?

You could also access service mode from trouble reset and go to counter and see the most recent trouble code that caused the scanner to $h1t the bed.

Hi Guys, thank you for the help as well. synthohol i was able to reset it your way. i also went to service first and it looked like the trouble isolation was blacked out on the unset. i also printed a long machine management list, but didn't see any codes that i could find under ADF or RADF. after i reset and rebooted, i heard a short buzzing noise on top, maybe the back of the ADF. i took the covers off and looked for any foreign object, or gummy rubber rollers. one shafted roller was hard to turn at first down inside, but then was free, like a one way pin clutch, nothing found. reassembled and tested ok.
i am wondering since it sat for the 3 day holiday, if a urethane roller was becoming soft, it may have happened from the long sit??

so, as of now, its running.

thank you very much as i was also able to refresh my old memory with the reset procedure you so kindly provided.

have a very nice evening guys.
