Bizhub 4050i 25% Keeps power cycling after 3 seconds

Haven't pulled the SB yet but it won't boot to Firmware or Trouble Reset. Was thinking Storage Board or CPU board but this machine was working and then just sat for around 6 months in our warehouse and now it is doing this.

Here is a video of the issue:

Had a C3350i do the same thing. KM told me to replace the CPU. It still did it. Found out using the diagnostic test that the storage board became a read only. Replaced the storage board with the original CPU board and ran boot and firmware brought it back to life. Hope this helps.

Do these devices have the SD card type storage 'board' ? if so can they be formatted in a laptop etc ?

That model uses an actual M.2 storage board, like the full size machines.

Thanks, I saw a model with a micro SD card for storage, maybe this was a previous series, C3300i ?

Update: Removed Storage Board and it stopped power cycling every 3-5 seconds and it was able to boot to diagnostic/recovery fw. Swapped a new SB on = power cycling again. Swapped a reset CPU board with reset SB and it boots up and takes FW but it throws all sorts of codes.

try starting with the side door open . it takes the fuser and some motors out of the picture.

There are a few different models that use the SD card. I forget the exact ones, but it doesn't seem like there is any sense as to which ones do and which ones don't. We don't deal with a lot of the smaller machines as they seem to be much lower quality, and tend to have a lot of issues compared to the full sized machines. It might be something as simple as printers having SD vs copiers having SB, though I haven't looked into it that deeply (or really paid enough attention) to know for sure.

On this model, please make sure to update to the latest bootrom and firmware that is RE. This firmware fixes many issues with this model. also make sure Dipswitch 25 is at at least 30, 40 is the correct one but 30 will also work.... Just make sure Bootrom is done first.
