    KM Bizhub C224e

I have a problem with the Bizhub C224e machine. The device leaves colorful lines on the printout. I looked in the machine to see what was happening and saw that the ITB was not cleaning properly. I replaced the cleaner and it worked for about 4 months. After that the device started doing it again. I replaced the entire ITB from the correct machine but it behaves the same in that other machine. I tested the ITB in another machine that was having problems and it works fine. The drums look good. What is the possible cause of this? Pictures of the prints and what the ITB looked like before I installed it in another machineIMG2.jpg

Does it happen on each individual color when you do a color sample from service mode? I highly doubt its the belt if you have changed it. I would do a test print of each individual color to see if it follows all colors first. IF it doesn't and you only see it on one color it could be a printhead possibly or maybe a bad board based on how uniform it is on the page.

The error occurs when after the device has cooled down.

You have developer problems, what exactly was done prior those lines appear?

So did you try each color in service mode to see if it carries through on all colors? And what do you mean by after it cools down? it works fine when you do a large run but then appears after it hasn't been used in a while?

The machine stays in sleep for about 5 minutes and when I order it to print, regardless of whether it's something in color or black and white, it makes such a print from the pictures I put in the first post.

Going back to my original answer I would run each color in service mode to see if it follows every color sample, then you can look at what's in common with all dev units.

I misread your original post, but my reply still stands. Wearing out after 4 months is indeed bizzare, but I have seen loads of premature failures so it can happen.

I assume since you moved it to another machine and it printed fine you did the following:

You put in the streaking belt with the test machine ON during install.
Printed one test page and it was "fine".
Did not let test machine run a stabilisation.
Did not check a gradation adjust.

If you put the streaking belt back into the other machine and do an image stabilisation, what do you see then?

                    Original reply:
Your ITB cleaning blade is worn out.

That streak you are seeing is the calibration print that is read by the IDC sensors during image stabilisation / warm up. The calibration print is always done in the same location on the belt, hence why the blade wears out at those points: Front Side and Rear Side IDC.

The warmup delay will be caused by the machine failing to stabilise and timing out.

The streak will only show after it stabilises and will slowly fade out on prints until the machine stablises again.
You can purchase JUST the blade itself at very reasonable prcie if the rest of the ITB assembly/Belt surface is still good.

Also, clean your IDC sensors, you should do this everytime you pull a belt. This may be why it is wearing out so fast as the machine is struggling to calibrate at every power up/stabilisation causing excessive wear to the cleaning blade.

I have seen it caused by excessive drum voltages.
                      What are yours?
