    Is the thremistors touching the roller. A small air gap could cause it to over heat but by then a thermal fuse is suppose to be kicking in. I like the backwards fan theory. A brushless fan like this can only run in reverse if its driver chip is faulty enabeling the reverse direction. Never seen that before but easy enough to install the gnorw way round.

      Is the machine New, or "new" as in refurbished? I don't think KM is still making the 227.

      Honestly, under any circumstances, that's a fire hazard and needs to locked out before it causes any real damage.

        In case the SP setting were @deafault I think the presented "solution" is more some kind of a workaround that works for now.

            Like I mentioned previously something doesn't add up and OP post is really an unsolved mystery. I don't believe settings could have caused a fuser "melt down" like that. Only other thing that comes to mind, is the machine located in nuclear power plant
