Konica 280 and 360 having problem with taking paper from Bypass Tray

I've noticed that two Konica models have problem with taking paper from bypass tray if Bypass Tray is set to Plain paper. It just lifts tray and puts it down and then throws 10-01 and shows number 5 as a jam area but no paper has been taken. (link to a video at the bottom) This only happens if paper type is set to Plain paper. If I set it to, for example, Thick 2 machine takes paper and prints as normal. I've tried this on multiple machines 0 series with same symptoms.

Any idea what could be a culprit?

    Thanks for the answers.

You didn't mention if you tried new rollers? Only thing that makes sense that it feeds paper ok with thick setting is machine runs slower when thick paper is selected.

If this is an i-series Some of these have came from the factory with the one-way gear for the bypass on backwards. To check roll the pickup rollers with your finger. The bottom of the pickup roller should move freely when you push towards the machine and lock when you pull it away from machine. If it rotates freely the wrong way you have to pull the feed roller and flip the one way gear that is on the same shaft the the feed roller comes off of.

Probably "sticky" solenoid SD1, however I would check clutch CL7

Lol, my message was marked as spam.
That's probably solenoid SD1 - damping foam degraded from time and became sticky.
