    C4050i “locked up”

When you copy (not every time of course) it will scan the original but never print it out, just sits in the queue and machine displays ready. It will continue to scan a copy but it just remains in the queue. Once you delete all the jobs you have to turn off/on and it may copy/print some then do it again. Never displays any error message.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Can you enter service mode?
Will it froze when printing or only on copy/scan?

Locked up may not be the best description. Everything seems to work, as it will go through the copy process just won’t print the copy out but it does go in the queue as do print jobs. It just never prints them out. It has done it when sending a print job to it also, goes in the queue but never prints it out. Haven’t tried to enter service mode yet.

Having encountered a similar problem before, you can check the hard drive

Try disconnecting it from the network. If it functions normally when it is off the network ... well we've seen this behavior from other Lexmark rebadges. Some signal is picked up from the network which freezes it's functionality. After a lot of replaced parts, and very little cooperation from the local IT, we ended up installing the exact same model, just the version badged Lexmark, and they worked perfectly. I never did hear of a definitive solution to this issue. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Unsure if it is the same print engine as the 3320i, but I have had this issue when one or more of the image units TCR values are compeltely out of spec.

Usual symptom is the jobs all get queued and the device is stuck on "Warming Up" / Calibration. If you go into service mode, state confimration what are the Levels for the IUs? Should be around 6-7% in normal operation.

I would also check system error counter logs for multiple instances of Abnormal Toner Density in any of the IUs.

I think TSB was on to something. I've had KMs stay locked up like that if they have a drum unit at end of life.

Start by updating the firmware or a failed / failing storage board can cause this.
