    No toner empty warning

Hi, i have a c224 that does not detect that the toner is empty, it keeps using it until the tcr value decreases. Luckily i was able to catch that.
The toner empty warning does not show on all colors. Can someone put me in the right direction to solve the problem please?
    thanks

empty and clean the toner hoppers . do not use a vacuum. the sensors are piezo and will blow with excessive static.

I've used vacuums to clean out many "4" series toner hoppers and have never blown the sensors. 3M vac's are grounded to prevent excessive static. Can't remember last time I've seen the famous blue static spark when vacuuming.

Do you have the "consumable life reminder" turned off under system 2 in service mode? I've had machines give no warning of toner low with this setting on.

Clean or replace white bushings in front of toner sub hopper.

Agree with Copyman. Been many years since I blew something with a 3M vac.. they've all got static dissipative hoses and ground connections now. In fact, the last time I blew a sensor was on a Mita analog, I think. If I remember right, it was a DC-152Z??

I think Albonline meant developer units.

Regardless of which sensors, I've vac'd many dev unit, hoppers, etc and agree with Oyster that I haven't had a sensor blow because of static for many years.

When giving advice i always look to the worst case scenario. i won't assume anybody has the proper equipment or knowledge of possible damage that they could do.

Can you please elaborate? How can they affect the "no empty toner warning"?

There has been a lot posted about the white "toner seals" and not adding toner. Use search feature.
