How to replace ejector unit in FS-536 and 539

I have to replace the ejector unit in an FS-536 and 539. I do not recall ever replacing a part with no manual instruction. I'm terrified. How does it come out. HELP.

The paper is catching on the left in both finishers. I have a 4 second video but the site says I cannot upload an mp.4

I think i attempted doing that once a long time ago in the shop (with a manual) and i got as far as removing it. Found a lease return finisher and brought it to the customer. I instruct my sales monkeys never to add the finisher to lease paperwork. I now have a small inventory for when this happens in the field to swap out.

Sorry, I know this doesn't help your situation, but that's how I handle FS major problems. That procedure is a time killer.

These never seem to work right after taken apart. Are you near a wholesaler? They will usually sell a finisher off a low meter machine for $25-$100. Especially if they export machines. When they ship containers of copiers back to Asia or SA they don't include finishers that will take up space. So they end up with a bunch of finishers they will sell cheap or end up in scrap yard!

ive replaced a dozen of them, it can suck.
need 2 people for best results because if someone pulls the frame apart the unit comes out easier.
ya need stubby #1 and #2 phillips and a few bandaids as metal is sharp.

most of the time i just use packing tape or a mylar to cover all the slices and nicks in the jogger paddles that cause the paper to scrunch up in there.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
        The medication helps though...

From looking at your pictures, I don't think you need to replace the eject unit. Your paper is getting stuck before it even gets into the eject unit. It looks like the paper is catching on the part they call a Guide Assembly on the FS-536(Regulating Plate on the FS-539). They are famous for getting sliced by the paper and getting nicks in them, which catches paper and causes jams.
Here is a link to a great video on how to replace them

hey blackcat4866 have you gotten any residual$ from your 2015 post? LOL
i like that he credits the site and BC at least.

i used 2 sided nitto and a transparency sheet until it fails, then swap the finisher from another one in the lease return pile. the ejector units suck. easier to fight with the paddles.

I answered a private message about it a few days ago.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
