Bizhub C351 Image Transfer Belt Removal

I find myself in possession of an older Konica Bizhub C351. A little bit of fiddling and was able to copy (bottom utility tray got used as storage, and things were jamming up the rest of the trays). Most everything seems to be decent, good toner levels, paper feeding, 40lb card stock feeding. I got a little bit of image ghosting going on. Did some reading, determined I wanted to look at the Image Transfer Belt. Did some [ more reading ], bought some manuals (terrible ones) off of ebay, watched a few videos. I got the silver brackets to pop out. "pull out the transfer belt" is easier said than done. Where should I pull from, the silver brackets/tabs? Something else? Is it straight out, do I have to lift it up, or slide it back? I'm worried about causing more damage than I'm fixing

Is it possible to find a better service manual that shows this procedure? I see mention of Paul in that linked thread from 17 years ago (I assumed that would be an amazing thread necro). Is Paul still a thing, or any ideas where I can get a proper service manual?

Here's from a post from 2008...."open right hand side door and remove 1 screw from a silver bracket front end of the machine and 1 from a silver bracket from the rear side of the machine, the brackets should pop out about 10cm.
Then open the left side door and remove the collection bottle, then pull out the transfer belt, if it does not want to come just check that the silver brackets on the right side of the copier have 'popped' out all the way. Should take you no longer than 30 sec's

Never seen this model but should not be so complicated. Just Wtb off and 2 big screws removed maybe this black plastic over belt unit too like on models fom past 2 decades.

DOH, I was trying to find a way to pull it out from the right side. Misunderstood and it apparently comes out the left side with the waste toner bottle.

Great! Got the unit out, looked pretty good. Wiped it down with water and light ipa mix. Same issue. Ghosting in full color. Single color (BYCM) it doesn't do it. Increasing the paper thickness seems to lessen the effect. I assume I should be looking at the fuser?

I wouldn't put any money into a machine this old. If you can tell the machine that regular weight paper is actually thick then you could possibly have a fuser going out. You could start a copy and open door before it completes and pull transfer belt and see what the image looks like. You could then also look at the copy that hasn't been through fuser to see if it looks OK.
Not sure on this model but on all the newer models you can go in service mode and increase fusing temperature.

It was a broken freebie I picked up because Kinko's made me mad enough to do something about it. Got it working relatively easily. Full toner bottles, if I can get it doing GREAT for under $200, golden Will see if I can change the fuser temp in service mode.

kicking my buddy who got rid of his significantly newer one, just had someone come haul it away.

The temperature could go up to a max of +5 degrees. I set all the paper types to +5. Not entirely eliminated, but a lot better. If I end up having to spend any money on it, I'll probably just break down and buy a Brother HL-L3280CDW or what not.
