C3350 hangs after switching on during initialization

    Hello everyone,

    I was given a C3350 as a gift.
When I switch on the device, the fans start, the scanner starts, the display starts slowly.
It takes a long time for the display to start completely.
After that, however, no operation is possible. I can tap on the counter, the pressing is displayed, but it doesn't open.
At the top left it says initialization, and that also stays there.
Access via the network is not possible

I've already read something on the Internet that it could be the hard drive.
In fact, there wasn't one installed. I tried an HDD and an SSD, to no avail. Does the hard drive have to be formatted beforehand?

There is no toner installed either. But I don't want to buy any toner until I know what's wrong with the device.

Does anyone have a tip on what I can try?

I don't want to invest a lot in the device....

Thank you very much for your help

i would open the door and look at the transfer belt. if its not cleaning properly this can happen.
also see if you can get into service mode through trouble reset? see the atdc levels and if any c codes in history
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

I'll take a look at the transfer ribbon.

The problem is that the printer doesn't respond to any input or keystrokes. So I can't get into any menu...

Have you tried booting without the network cable plugged in?

Have you tried accssing service mode through the trouble reset screen? I am unsure if that model has that function, but it may let you by pass the locked up screen when allowing it to boot normally. Trouble Reset Screen -> Show Keypad -> Access service mode as normal

If it lets you get in I would do as Synth says and check the IU TCR values, if they are out of spec the machine will just sit warming up forever, sometimes it will never throw a code, but they should show in the history. From there you can make a call if you want to go further and order up the IUs and the toner as that could get a bit pricey for a free device.

The ITBs on those machines also eat their cleaning blades in the middle due to calibration, I would also pull the belt and see if you've got the classic brown streak down the middle of the belt. This can also be visually checked from the side door without pulling the belt, and by checking IDC value in Level History. I've managed to clean these up and you may be able to get an aftermarket blade rather than an entire belt for a cheap fix.
