8 series to 0i things to watch out for

I had it separately from normal firmware (different thumb drive) it updates boot rom first(almost always boot rom needs update) then CPU2. Then do gc3-re from different thumb then switch 187 hex40.
Job done move to the next one.

AA2J0Y0-F000-GXX-42 came out after RE. We have had to update the CPU "power control" thingy (CPU core voltage setting maybe???) while RE is already installed. Maybe they updated the RE package silently? Not sure.

Look under special firmware. It's the first item.

Yeah, I saw that. But I'm confused (not surprising,) The attached lists the C450i CPU update JIG firmware as FW_AC770Y0-F000-GXX-43.exe. I can't find a listing in One Stop for ANY fw that starts with AC77

That document lists FW_AA2J0Y0-F000-GXX-42.exe as the right listing for a C450i.

AC77 and AC74 can be the same machines depending on if it has the A800 memory board installed or not. For example a 550i with the A800 memory board is AC74 and without the A800 memory board is AC77. Below is a screenshot from the one stop shop. A 550i has 2 versions of this updater since it could be either depending on if that board is installed.

At the end of the day, I made a flash drive with all of them. They each have their own FW00XX folder so they don't interfere with each other. It's the master updater flash drive for CPUs for us. We have one for firmware/movie/pdf data, one for all the diag tools, ect. No more messing around with files while trying to fix a machine.

iseries, noise from the upper waste toner box is a pretty common issue. The colors also seem to be more muted than the 8 series, for the life of me I can't remember where I've seen it but there are recommendations on dipswitch settings to help and it does make a difference.

Change switch 153 to HEX 40, hit Fix and that's it. No need to reboot

This isn't a complete list but it should get you started.
We set the following for new copiers (all in HEX):

• Switch 25: 40 (Function version 2.3)
• Switch 10: 02 (Make machine a Konica instead of a Muratec ect.)
• Switch 157: 02 (Allow sleep to be set to 240 minutes)
• Switch 72: 04 (Enable flash drive settings import export)
• Switch 219: 01 (Enable DHCP continuous tries like you know.....a normal piece of equipment...)
• Switch 172: 01 (Disable marketplace)
• Switch 237: 20 (Enable fax IP setting for VoIP. This simply makes the setting appear, it doesn't apply it)
• Switch 153: 40 (Change color output to match 8 series-ish) <- we found we had to reboot to get this to work. Sounds like KMFLT3CH found it no longer needs a reboot?
• Switch 187: 40 (Enable half speed fan mode to keep the CPU card from overheating death)

Our general setup procedure is:

1. Unbox
2. Put all optional accessories on/assemble the machine
3. Update firmware and boot ROM
4. Update CPU Power firmware thing. (This should also do the boot rom. I need to find out if we can simply the previous step.)

6. Set dip switches
7. Do mechanical adjustments (arrow charts, color gradation, ect)
8. Check all machine functions
9. Deliver to customer

They are definitely NOT the same box from 8 to 0i series. This series is fraught with problems, and I too am learning the differences between them. As others have said, board and F/W problems. The 3350i series has been the most problematic for me so far, with the issues of the Imaging units failing prematurely, but it seems like the later F/W (with better agitation) seems to fix those issues, mostly. I just replaced a CPUB board last week under warranty through KM on a C-3350i

The 3350i series has been the most problematic for me so far, with the issues of the Imaging units failing prematurely, but it seems like the later F/W (with better agitation) seems to fix those issues, mostly. I just replaced a CPUB board last week under warranty through KM on a C-3350i

+1 to that...

The color A4 line is total garbage......stay far away.....I can't possibly see how we could have made any money on a single one of them once I add in all the labor, travel, and parts needed to fix them.

As far as the images units go, we have a brand new machine. Just out of the box. 0 copies. It's already on it's 3rd image unit. The only thing it's done so far is run test copies from service mode. It is using the latest firmware, boot rom, and CPU power control update. The replacement image units are the "fixed" ones.

We have a few other units waiting for CPU boards (those are used machines).

We even scrapped one out for parts with 40k copies because the warranty ended and the CPU died. Without the Konica warranty it's just too expensive to keep running.

Hopefully the C3351i is better. They are too new to tell at this point. However, I don't have high hopes.

After doing an initialization, format, firmware update, etc, the app icons on the control panel of the 0i series are scattered over several pages.
Is there a default setup for the app icons on the control panel? And if so, how is that accomplished?
