Removal of Finisher on Bizhub C552

Hello. I have come upon a Bizhub C552 from a school with what would be a lifetime of toner. I just needed it to be a large printer/copier. I don't need holes punched, I don't need staples, I just want it to be a big ol' laser printer. I find myself clearing jams out of the finisher quite often. Is there a procedure to remove it and just use the main unit? There is a large space of what seems to be an output tray just under the scanning unit. If I could remove the finisher and use that tray as output, that would be ok with me.

    Please advise.

Just unplug finisher from machine and remove it. No settings or changes have to be made. The finishers are "plug & play".
You have to remove the transport bed along with finisher. Pages will fall onto metal plate inside cavity. There is a tray that goes inside the cavity OT-503. I have a customer that did the same thing with removing the finisher and they have been using it while I've been trying to find OT-503. Been almost a year and cannot find it. Reason they are hard to find is most of these 50+ ppm models were sold with finishers. Best of luck

Ok. I unplugged everything that was attached to it, and it complained about something being opened and the screen didn't point to whatever it was.

Have you removed the bridging unit, the large part that sits under the scanner. I can't remember, if when the finisher was installed a "bridging" connector had to be removed just behind the control panel, in which case, if that's not refitted, you may have problems. It's been awhile since I saw one of these.
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Did you remove and unplug connectors with machine off? Did you try turning off and on with "main power switch"? Also open and close front door to reset? As a last resort you can initalize the machine in service mode.
