Konica Minolta Bizhub C558 Line Issues

    Hello

We have a Konica Minolta Bizhub C558 which is putting lines all over the place through every colour except yellow. We have had an engineer out who can't solve the issue. The issue started with a single, what looked like an imprint line running down the middle of the page, which looked like a lens issue. The colours at this point were all printing fine quality wise. Since cleaning the laser lens on each of the colours using the stick and cleaning pad, this has made the print quality awful. All the drums and developer units are fairly new and genuine parts. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Looking at the output it seems that your C and M drums are damaged, with potential damage to Y too.
It is always difficult to check Y quality with a 255 output as there may still be streaking.
I would get into service mode and run some full A3 Halftone Test prints on C M Y at a value of 55 to really see the detail.
If you are confident, you could pull the C drum and inspect its charge roller, if it has lines/marks at the front side that corrspond to the image defect you are experiencing the drum will need repalced. Remember to sheild the drum unit from direct light and DO NOT touch the drum surface.

It could still be excessive toner on the LSU glass as this also manifests in white streaks/drop outs. If the cleaning stick was dirty you may have just dragged more crap over the laser glass.
Especially sicne you mentioned that using the cleaning stick made it worse.

Has this machine been moved/dropped/mishandled recently? Having all 3 drum charge rollers blow out at once like that sounds like developer has spilled over the roller surface on all 3 colour drums.
This could also be a sign of the toner filter being compeltely clogged, causing the dev unit vac system to become clogged, which causes the dev units to spit toner out onto the LSU glass/drum/charge roller.

Without the full service halftones and no mention of machine total counts/ use of 3rd party consumables I cannot really help any further.

We have checked/replaced all the drums and they are not the issue. The machine hasn't been moved at all. We think it's most likely to do with the LSU glass.

I couldn't have said it better.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you both. We will take a look again and see if we can get the issue solved.

if it was me, I'd take out the laser unit, and wipe all the of the glass , also check for any toner/dv around where the laser unit sits

Yes if it drops that much I will remove all - ITB, drums, devs, PH unit and clean them all.
