    bizhub C361i Fax Issue

I installed a new FK-514 fax kit in a brand new C361i machine. I followed the set up instructions and no issues. The fax box is on the screen and when selected it lets me put in the number and recognizes the original in the adf. When I hit start the machine beeps and the paper just sits there and nothing happens. I have gone over the set up three times to make sure I didn't miss anything. Has anyone run into any difficulties with install lately? Thanks in advance

if you call the fax number does it try to pick up?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

I haven't had that specific problem but any weird problems with fax kits for me has always come down to one of the following.
        • It's plugged into the wrong USB port (it's kinda weird that that matters)
        • It's plugged into the wrong white plug (the other wire that is not a USB cable) <- if you take it off hook and don't get a dial tone on a known good line this is likely your issue. Sound travels over this cable for the speaker.
        • the firmware version on the copier does not match the version on the fax kit.
Worked in IT for 12 years from Helpdesk up to System Administrator. Now working as the IT Manager at a copier company for the last 4 years.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

As dumb as it sounds but have you tried with original on the glass?

And this sounds even more stupid, did you turn machine off and back on after installing the fax?

You need to hear dial tone with off hook mode or it will never work. I would also look at VoIP issue.

Update - After I installed the machine the IT Dept. came in and turned on some security settings which blocked incoming and out going faxes. Thanks for the replies. I appreciate all your suggestions.
