    Transport unit (registration clutch cl4)

Hi, i am a hobbiest and I work on my c224 myself. I need to remove the transport unit to change the registration clutch.

I am looking at the manual for that but the job appears to be very lengthy (board , main drive, dev motor...)

My question is for the techs out there.

Is there any other method to do that easily. Its seems that the clutch should be easily accesible in my opinion.
    thanks for your insight

Open the right side door, remove the transfer belt then 4 screws to remove the conveyance/transport unit. A few connectors going to the front of the machine into the front side board and maybe a gear or plastic stopper to remove so the unit can slide out easily. The clutch is on the rear of the transport unit. Shouldn't take more than 30min to remove it.

What sucks is the black latch screw is under the front panel. Also don't lose the little screw holders that the two upper screws attach to

First let me say I can think of much better hobbiesđŸ˜‚ but give you credit for attempting work yourself.

You can always find shortcuts to what's in the manual. Personally if I was repairing my own machine as a "hobby" I would do by the manual and it would give me a chance to learn about the copier. But that's just me with things out of my expertise. The easy way is follow KMFLT3CH instructions and use a good magnetic screwdriver.

Since you are not a trained tech, why are you looking to replace the registration clutch, to resolve an issue I guess ?

I am investigating a p-14 error that wont go away + the paper comes out slighty skewed and and i am suspecting registartion roller/clutch and I love to learn thats it.

Yeah you totally right, the manual will give peace of mind i am no tech by all means as i said its just a hobby, but according to the manual, its a heck of job and i was sure that u crafty techs will not do it like it was explained in the manual.

And yeah tinkering is my hobby lol, i find it funny too.
