    Konica Minolta Internet Fax

    Hi Experts,

I want to setup KM internet Fax on 8 series machine. I was following the setups mentioned in KM user guide how to setup i-fax. The first step is to enable I fax from the network settings but when I checked this option is not showing in the admin>Network>Internet Fax settings. Strange. I am not sure it's because of Firmware or something else.

Fax kit is installed and working fine. I am new to it so know very little.

Can anyone guide how to enable it ? And this internet Fax is free? Because it uses internet not the fax line right? Or it's bill able like the normal fax line.

    Many thanks πŸ™

Pretty sure its a completely separate thing than the fax board. I think you would need to subscribe to an internet fax service to have the correct info to program into the Internet Fax settings menu.

Thanks. I really wonder no one is replying to this internet fax settings thing. Seems like no one used this feature. Pretty strange. 😩😩

Very rarely will a fax be set up on the machines in the EU so to us it is not strange. Scan with Internet connections and Emails have basically replaced the fax.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

I tried it once years ago. If i remember correctly, it uses email behind the scenes and both copiers act as email servers and the send between each other. The problem was since they were both behind firewalls, port 25 was closed between them so it only really worked on a managed network.

          HOWEVER,
KM has a deal with Upland InterFAX. I really want to try that out. Seems like eFax but from the copier itself. I'm guessing it uses TCP to a remote server to send a fax.
Worked in IT for 12 years from Helpdesk up to System Administrator. Now working as the IT Manager at a copier company for the last 4 years.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

It's true Scan to emai, has replaced fax but Internet fax feature is still available. As a tech we should know how it works and how it can be setup. I was reading the manual, following the steps then I found the option to enable I-fax is not showing in the machines I am dealing with. PRETTY STRANGE.

Then I posted here thinking KM seniors and experts are available and they knew how to enable it.

I am stuck at first step πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ 🚫
