    More i-series nightmares

I came across one that another tech had a put in a brand new storage and cpu put in ,not at the same time, and was giving an error code that it wasn't giving before he started . I pulled storage and cpu boards and noticed that the storage board contacts were brown instead of gold. I cleaned them and the contacts of the cpu board with an old fashioned typewriter eraser. Put them back in updated boot rom and firmware and the machine came to ready .

With that being said it would be a good idea to clean these contacts before ordering the boards and clean the new ones before putting them in.

I was at off lease warehouse yesterday to test & buy 3 super low meter i series C250i & C300i, all under 20k. 2 of them stuck on boot-up at 25 & 50%. 2 out of 3 machines bad! Not good odds to say the least. That explains the low meters and more importantly how bad this issue is with the i series! If this CPU / Storage crap isn't corrected with the new "1i" series it will be the beginning of the end for Kon/Min !!!!
