Should the boot rom be updated when installing c458 firmware?

This is something I have never done on the 8 series. If so, is the boot rom done by itself, then the rest of the firmware? Or at the same time?

I have never updated boot rom on any 8 series. I think the boot rom is included with firmware .
The boot rom update requirement started with the i series.
