C458 quality

Good afternoon, I have this problem with this c458, no color comes out and it has internal errors, the imaging units are new and the development units and the transfer belt too

Check the transfer belt is driving / turning.

Tray another transfer belt unit if you have one.

Have you stopped the machine mid print/copy to see if there is any image on the transfer belt? And then see if there is any image on the drum units? Would help narrow it down, it could be HVT, it certainly needs a black dev unit by the looks of things.

I didn't see it but I thought it was strange that before it was coming out, then I changed the laser flat and it started to whiten

Hi, I’m sorry I don’t understand what you mean by laser flat? Did you changed the laser unit? Have you cleaned the laser slit glasses with the cleaning wand at all?

Any more information that you can provide will help us try and diagnose the issue for you.

Ok, let's go, this machine was presenting this following defect: the pages were coming out only magenta and black. I checked the laser and the units and the toner hopper supply, but they are normal. That's when I saw that the laser flat cable was a bit strange and I decided to change it, but now no color comes out.

It looks as though you were getting cyan as well, all be it faint and not across the whole page. The flat cable does look strange, are you sure the flat cable contacts on the laser unit are ok? Have you got another laser unit to try? I would still check if there is an image on the drum unit/transfer belt if stopped mid print. Obviously if the laser unit and dev units are working as they should, you will get an image on the drum. I would suspect laser if you changed the cable and now you’re not getting any image, in any colour. I would check the installation of the flat cable as well, just encase the issue is with the install of it. Good luck

Are you sure that you installed the ribbon cable with the contacts in the correct direction / on the correct side of the socket?

Actually the only colour that was missing was yellow. I would put everything back and replace one at a time, testing between part changes.
