    BH-C-284e same fuser as BH-284e?

Have never seen here physically a mono BH-284e and I expect it has a different fuser unit than the color BH-C-284e. Part numbers are also different in the manuals, but in the Internet some sites are indicating that the fuser for the mono machine with #A61FR71011 can be used for the color machine as well. Is that true?

Reason for asking is that I can find loads of mono machines for an extremely low price from a wholesaler which I could use perhaps as a donor for some identical parts and options.

BTW: Would the BH-284e mono be a worthy successor for the, in the meantime, very old BH-363/243?

I have revised this post and stand corrected. I had the fusers mixed up. I have used the C224 fusers in the C454 but had to change the connector. Think I have also modified the C224 to work in 224 mono's and vise versa by changing lamps & lamp holders?

Yes the 224e B&W is what I upgrade the 223 series with. Still have customers with Biz 223's that just wont die. Getting to the point where the fuser lamps are going and customer has no choice but to upgrade since lamps aren't available.

I tried to install fuser of C284e to 284e but the connectors are not the same.

Yep, not the same different wiring.

Totally!!!!! I'd probably solder a new battery on the main pcb because sometimes they die and in this case you end up in trouble.
At least you should check the voltage. Make shure to solder the new one parallel to the old one before removing because
the board has to be provided with battary voltage during all times.

You guys must be referencing fusers outside the US market I assume. They must be different in more ways than just the voltage. In the US, the 284e and the C284e use the same fuser. Matter of fact, that same fuser fits many different models.

                Current part number in the US is A161R71899, and it fits all of these: 224E 284E 364E 308 368 C224 C284 C364 C224E C284E C364E C308 C258 C368

                      Thanks femaster.

Here I thought I was going crazy. I knew I had used the same fusers in mono & color but went ahead and revised my original post anyway thinking I was wrong. Good to know I'm not going crazy....yet
