C-3851, not feeding from paper tray, code 12-01

Hey guys.. I'm figuring out some of the issues with thing, but it seems, inherently, like this is a just a really lousy paper feed (lift) design in these trays. In fact, I had less issues with the older 3350/3850 than I do in these. I looked for a bulletin from KM, hoping to get some help, but no dice.

Also, there appears to be a spring that was missing, on the paper jogger (pusher) that keeps the paper pushed to the feed roller when the tray is lifted... not sure what it was supposed to look like, but I think mine's broken.

Honestly I just put a 2"x1" slice of 3/8" thick foam behind the clear mylar to add support when the half empty tray lifts.
