Bizhub C258, DF-629 random fail scanning format

Hi everyone,
I'm Lorenzo and i'm new in this forum. I hope you can help to solve this strange behaviour on a KM C258.

i have an issue with DF629 on a Bizhub C258.
During scanning, where multiple A4 sheets are loaded (LEF), randomly one sheet stop for half a second then goes on.
No errors, no jam, but that sheet is scanned as A3 format. (mixed size originals)
All sensor cleaned. Repeated the initial set-up. And, at the end, replaced the adf unit with another DF-629.
Issue is persisting. (For clarification, the original unit, installed on another Bizhub works well).
I fear i have to look for the solution on the main body machine. Ideas?

That's strange - did you relly clean all sensors and (even more important) all "dark holes" on the opposite sides of the reflection sensors?

He changed DF and problem stays with the machine.
Maybe Initialize all?

reflective sensor on df-629 is clean,

Have you updated firmware? You'll get some strange issues if the FW of the DF isn't at the same level as the main engine.

reflective sensor on df-629 is clean,

Well the dark holes sit at the opposit side of the reflection sensors, it's usually just a square-ish hole and inside of it you might find a sticker made of black felt to eliminate unwanted reflections - if there's too much paper dust inside that area the sensor can cause false warnings/impulses. Might not be the problem if the issue wasn't reproduceable @ the other MFP you used for testing that feeder.

No update,
the issue has occoured after a couple of years since installation.
And after the replacement of adf, no more problem for a week, then it started again.

Sorry... my mistake... the main body is a C308 not C258

No, the customer uses common white A4 paper 80gr. and it happens with all originals (also blank sheets)

Try swapping out the Scan Board, it's easy to get to and a pretty quick process. You should be able to swap it out with another machine (same model) without issue just for troubleshooting purposes.
