    [Misc] Scan to Email Issue

I have 2 machines in the same office, IP settings are identical except for IP address, SMTP (office 365) settings are the same for both, C458 will send mail without issue 600 DPI, compact PDF standard compression 1 page or 50, no issues. C368 will only send 1 page and must be at 300 dpi compact PDF. 2 pages, or any number of pages set at 600dpi will give a connection time out. Both NICs are set for 1GB full duplex (10/100/1gb Auto works the same on both. I'm having the tech do a init, and latest F/W and function version..But I'm at a loss to resolve this..Any ideas?

Sounds like a memory or hdd problem, I'd start troubleshooting there.

Worth checking the optics/scan lamp/white reference and maybe run a continuous ping to see if it's dropping packets.

If the machine has plug-in RAM, try removing it, cleaning the contacts, and re-installing.

I had almost that exact situation a few years back on a Ricoh machine.

I would set low network speed on troubled machine and test.

just to make sure all setting are the same I would clone all setting on the c458 and import them into the c368. just don't clone the security settings .

Have you tried setting up gmail and scanning to a gmail account via gmail SMTP settings and see if it will do same thing?

Could be both machines are on different firmware. I'd start by updating the one that doesn't scan & go from there.
