    Problem
    IC-416/IC-418, "Unable to connect" message.

    Solution
CAUSE: Connection issue between the IC-416 or IC-418 and the machine.

SOLUTION: Set both the IC-416 or IC-418 and the machine NIC speeds to 100 full duplex.

    Problem
"Controller Not Connected" message may occur after installation.

    Solution
CAUSE: Possible loose connection of the video interface cable

SOLUTION: During hardware setup on some Fiery installs, route the VI-510 to Fiery cable through a nearby wiring saddle allowing for a more secure connection.

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

If its a new install follow the attached instructions. They are for an eight series but I have found they work with all the newer models even the i-series. also if you are new to firey just know even after it reaches 00 it still could take up to 15 minutes before Fiery comes to full ready. I've even had them take up to 30 minutes. Plus make sure your copier has latest firmware

Is this a new build, or was it working and just started this behavior? If you know the IP of the Fiery, can you web into it? What method did you use to set this up? Separate IPs, or obtain IP for engine? E

if you can see the fiery icon in the menu page thats where you print the controller config page otherwise the copiers ip may just be 1 notch above the fiery IP
