Every time I try and print double sided with the C452 the paper prints fine on one side, goes into the upper tray then throws a paper jam error in what I assume is the duplexer. It stops about an inch or two so after the flag just as it passes through the rollers on the upper door. No creases or folds, just errors out the printer.
I am a novice at paper printer repairs, but I am skilled at technical assemblies and competent with electronics. My best guess is that either the flag is not registering, or there is an encoder that isn't properly indexing as the paper passes through. Is there a diagnostic mode where I can see the individual sensors to find what's erroring out, or is this more of a pre OBD2 kinda thing where you have to be smarter than the machine to fix it?
A side problem the printer has had since I bought it at a few years back at government auction for $105 is the lower paper trays jam constantly. I assume the transfer rollers are bad, but I've always just used the bypass or upper trays to print and it wasn't a real problem for me. I guess while I fix this I'll buy a new set of transfer rollers for those trays.
Thanks for any pointers!
