Looking through the KM website, it seems like they have removed all the in between versions of firmware for the C284, with only the initial release (G00-72) and a couple of the more recent Gxx-M0 versions available.

I looked through our server and we have saved copies of GA2-K6 and GB0-K8, then a couple versions of M0. If you are interested in trying either of those 2 older versions as an in between upgrade to see if that works for you, I can try and figure out a way to get them to you.

Roll it back to G00-72, then first load GB0-A9 version up firmware, then proceed with GR7-M0. Make sure to read the GB0-A9 firmware pdf, there are important steps to follow. Warning, the last time i did this it wiped the machine, counters were zeroed out, but it did the recovery and all settings came back. I did have to set the IP address again as well.

I did the rollback to G00-72, but GB0-A9 is not on One Stop

OK...so I tried loading GB0-A9 and got the same MFP N.G.3 result

Not sure what else to try. I never had any issues other than what I mentioned. Try without the HDD attached, check that the machine type select information is correct, possibly format the SSD. Clear all data possibly, or even a trouble reset. Not sure what else to try. Maybe someone else will have more suggestions.

I did set the software switch, I did not check the machine type.

i only suggest it because MFP wont load if the wrong M&Type are displayed

OK, tried it again, verified M&T and software switch and still got MFP M.G.3

Is there another intermediate FW I can try to get from G00-72 to GP0-A9 and then upgrade to GR7-M0?

the firmware cheats the machine into some features of the E models but i dont think it is able to continue upgrading using newer E versions. those are discontinued and they are not gonna keep updating a dead possum in a tuxedo. that was a kinda hold me over until they didnt have to support it anymore.
