How To Print From Different Network To Single Copier

    Hi Guys ,

New client setup 2 router and connected on same network but they complain from Network A user cant print to Network B copier .

Able to ping but unable to access via browser to enter copier page.

    Network A : 192.168.0.x
    Network B : 192.168.68.x

    Copier Ip : 192.168.68.200

What's the setting in copier i need to fix to make sure user from Network A can print to Network B ?

or this not relate to my copier where IT field staff need to config their modem ?

    Thanks .

Its Not a Copier setting its a router setting. Have there IT dept resolve the issue

Usually if you can ping it you should be able to print however you may not be able to access the web page.

sometimes if the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 only the first 2 octets need to match. there is a much better explanation but at 6am thats what came out of me
the 2 networks can be bridged too.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
      The medication helps though...

        Thanks .
You have 2 seperate networks - A & B. Copier is on network B and everyone on network B can print. Correct? The problem is that no one on network A can print. Right?

In theory, two networks shouldn't be able to communicate. Not unless you set them up to route between the different networks. That can be accomplished in different ways. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that someone has assigned another IP address to the NIC card of the PC. But that's just a guess. If you can ping the copier from a different network, someone has done something. Can you tell me what you've done?

Just to be clear, can you ping both networks from every computer? If not, then it's not gonna work.

Not only are you an asshole. You're also a fake and phony. You know nothing about inter-vlan routing or a route tree. You may understand how to add an IP address to a NIC. Maybe.

Hey, but keep doling out that great advice by telling the OP to contact the network administrator. I'm sure that's the advice that he was looking for. lol

what you assume is correct .

PC network A able to ping network B.
yes both network can be ping.

seen like they're connected but unable to print

It Dept can't explain what they exactly did to network , they just said add another router as more user is using out of ip . that's they divide into 2 Ip

Hhhmmm. So, they added another router because they ran out of IP addresses?

There's not a lot to go on, but if you can ping the copier, then something is being blocked. Try turning off the firewall.

                      It's not a copier issue 💯 Correct

                      It's a routing issue

I ve seen multiple networks connected at a defence plant and university. Contact there IT resolve.

There IT can bridge the networks

                      Good luck

Adding a router does not give you additional IP address. You are limited by the class status of the network..Class C (192.168.x.x) has 254 available IPs. You can subnet to add additional IPs, or if you have 2 routers giving out 2 diffferent IP schemes, you can bridge them (we bridge our wired and wireless networks in our office) or move to a class B network. But I agree with most that say this is something the customer IT dept should be taking care of or it should be a paid engagement if your company provides this kind of support. E

if i may, another option (because you didnt mention scanning) is if either network have wifi available then get a wireless to USB adapter so the machine CAN use 2 different subnets. one to the ethernet port and the other to the wifi>USB B port.

The simplest solution is to buy a USB to network print server.

It allows your printer to have two different IP addresses simultaneously. So some of the print jobs arrive via the built-in TCP/IP interface, some of the jobs arrive via the USB interface. And it falls directly onto the local IT's responsibility, but it's not that difficult to figure out.

Note: Printing will work fine, but scanning won't work via USB. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
