dont ever remove stuff that came from factory.

undo what you did and leave it alone.

you do mean the copiers odometer right?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Are the mechanical counter wires suppose to be shorted if not used?

Was it at a place where they sold copies? If so machine may also have billing set. Go into service mode, then "stop", "9". Once in the billing section look under management function choice, etc. to see if something to turn off.

just stop. there is no reason to remove it. the machine will not work without it attached.
          that was stupid!!
sounds sneaky and unethical to me.
next time just hide it with black tape.
          duh.

I'd advise you to just cover it with black tape to hide it, as Synthohol has pointed out already.

There was a change made during the production of the 4e-series of machines. Early ones came with the physical counter, later ones had eliminated it. If it came with the copier from the factory, it must remain in the copier or the copier will cease to function.

If you are determined to remove it, you will need to order a part which has probably been discontinued. I'm not going to make it easy on you, as your reasons for it's removal sound very sketchy to me. If it's that important to you, you will do the footwork on your own to discover what needs to be done to accomplish that. The only hint you will get from me is that you will find the answer you seek in Parts Bulletin #9285 on the US MyKonicaMinolta website. I'm not sure if bulletin numbers are the same in all parts of the world, so the bulletin number may vary in your region.
