    FS536 - FS537 compatibility?

Can the FS536 or bigger FS537 from "8" series be used on older Biz C554e? Can't remember if I've had "8" series with older FS534/FS535 or "4" series with newer FS536/FS537, or both ways ???

I know not to update machine F/W with "wrong" fin connected or will make inoperable.

Ha-ha, I searched the forum and see I asked same question before but never got around to trying the suggestions. Hopefully someone will have a definitive answer before I lug a FS537 up to 2nd floor and it doesn't work with C554e

    Thanks

Ok, I confirmed the FS536 will work on the older "4" series. Didn't try it but the "4" series installation instructions show both the FS534 & FS536 Fins.

Doubt the bigger FS537 is interchangable unless modified by swapping boards, etc.

Would still like to hear from anyone if they tried the FS537 on the older "4" series or it worked with modifications?

    Thanks in advance

The only thing that I will confirm is that it's hit-and-miss. Some functions will work, some not. And never update the firmware. It will cease to work altogether.

We've had quite a lot of unintentional finisher swapping since the 527 & 534 pretty much look identical, and the delivery guys can't tell the difference. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Not sure how they can mess that up. Aside from the obvious part that the plugs are completely different between the 2, so there is no way to connect either one to the wrong copiers, the next easiest sign is the the grey plastic trim that covers over the wheels on the output side of the finisher. The 527 has a large notch cut out in the middle while the 534 is solid all the way across.

I thought the same thing about those fins being different. The quickest way I could tell difference back when a lot were in lease warehouse was the wheel cover cutout you mentioned.

Confirmed, I replaced the older FS535 on a C554e with the smaller & newer FS536. Worked with no issues. Of course had to change the original FS535 mounting brackets to the new style single big bracket.

Interesting to know the only difference between the FS534 and FS536 is the elevator motor. The FS534 has a brushed motor and the FS536 a servo of some sort. I have converted between them with no issues. Just take the motor with its bracket and the board from the one to the other or visa versa.

The FS527 was a much more reliable finisher the gripper section on the FS534 cause those C1105 issues very reliably.
