[Misc] Damaged Konica Accuprint C4065 Transfer Belt

    Hi
Hopefully somebody out there can help me out, enclosed is an image of a Transfer Belt from a Konica Accuprint C4065 the original belt had split and was replaced with a new one, after stripping and cleaning the intermediate transfer assembly the new belt was fitted along with the original claw unit and cleaning assembly, the cleaning assembly had been replaced at an earlier point and only had about 50K on it the blades had been checked and relubricated, the assembly was checked for ease of rotation, and abnormal noises then a cleaning test was carried out as per the manual the assembly was refitted and all reset procedures were carried out as laid out in the service manual, on testing no error codes were registered and no abnormal noises were heard copy quality was good on A4 but on switching to A3 toner leakage appeared at both edges of the sheet along with smudging.
On withdrawal of the Developing Unit from the main body the indentations down either side of the belt where present along with the horizontal lines, I am surmising that the edge of the belt is being deformed by to much pressure against the drums and is being stretched over the edges of the transfer assembly charge rollers when operating, why and how this can be I can not work out so if anyone has seen this behaviour before and knows what the solution might be I would be very grateful for their input.
Normally I don`t post as I like to try and sort problems out myself but this time I am stumped the Konica Minolta tech guy I contacted for support is a bit slow coming forward.
The machine has processed 1.4 mill in the last 18 months.
    Any thoughts excepted gratefully
    Regards

That's some pretty severe mechanical damage. Never seen that before but assuming it is the correct OEM belt, I would suggest carefully going over the tension mechanisms and make sure everything was reassembled correctly. Can you post pictures of the entire assembly with a new belt installed before putting it in the machine?

Is that the same belt as was on originally? There's 3 different type belts for 3 different type units available.

Yeah there is definitely some physical contact with the transfer belt that shouldn't be happening. I would suspect that it's happening from the inside of the transfer assy, for example a roller out of place (I've seen new units arrive with one or more primary transfer rollers bouncing around inside the assembly). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            Hi,
Did you remove the paper guide located on the 2nd transfer roller?
If you took it off, and put it back by mistake, it damaged your transfer belt!

Re: Damaged Konica Accuprint C4065 Transfer Belt

                Hi gents
First off thanks for all input on the issue I had with the damaged Transfer belt the cause was two fold the first being a bent holding plate for the collection sheet on the Belt Cleaning Assembly this was resolved by fitting a new Cleaning Assembly (the old being put aside for refurb) the second which was causing the toner to leak at the sides of the transfer conveyor was due to a angled metal guide in the Resist section being removed and then refitted the wrong way round, the foil on one edge which should have been on the output paper side was actually on the input side consequently the angled metal part which had been bent up slightly was interfering with the Transfer belt every time it ran causing indentations at the edges and creases both horizontally and vertically on the belt as well as scraping toner off. See attachment for position of the guide.
                Regards
