We just delivered a C658 with FS-536 finisher (Staple and Hole Punch) to a client last week, and they are having a couple issues with finishing options.
1. In the universal print driver (PCL), the hole punch option is grayed out, even though the machine knows there is a Punch unit installed (seen both in service mode and embedded web server). The Multi-Model PS-PPD driver works fine, but the they hate it.
2. When stapling, the first copy will have a varying amount of pages misaligned, occasionally same with the second, but the rest of the stapled copies look fine. The issue is exaggerated when using both staple and punch functions. We tested this finisher with a C458 in our warehouse, and the finisher worked just fine. Then, we hook it up to the client's C658, and it is not functioning properly at all.
We traded out both the finisher and the horizontal transport unit for different ones, and the issue persists. There are no error codes.
The only plausible differences between the two environments that I can think of are:
1. The floor may not be level
2. Possible paper texture difference
3. Something is wrong with the C658 main body
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your help.
