    C-658 Jamming at Duplex Guide

Hey guys... so I've now had two machines doing the exact same thing. The paper stops on the rear (right side) corner of the duplex guide and accordions. The first machine I had to pull in shop and put a new duplex guide plate in it and also cleaned all the rollers in that area. Made no difference. It looks like the paper is (maybe) skewing before it gets to the guide, but I don't see any skewed images on any of the exited paper. Doesn't do it every time though, 10-20 pages can get out before this happens, but it seems to happen regularly. ONLY on duplex though, as far as I can tell. The jam codes are primarily 3205.

    Any help appreciated!

I would also check your registration. Pull it out and clean the bushings. Definitely check the flag on PS3. How many clicks on your copier? Around 2M your fuser drive and main drive (specifically the black developer drive gear) start to fail. With the fuser drive pulled out replace the transfer pressure clutch too. The main drive can only be replaced as a whole unit BUT you can take it apart and replace just that worn gear if you have a used drive available. It's just the black gear that wears so if you have an old drive available you can fix three drive assemblies. Yeah, the main drive isn't adding to your jam problem but if the clicks are there and you're pulling the fuser drive out you may as well kill two birds with one stone.

double check the paper path as it comes down the door, i recently had a similar problem, there was a "nick" in the plastic, that every so often the paper would catch on.
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Check if this bulletin may help.TNEU1600343EN_2.1.pdf

Thanks for all that copyman. I read through all that information and didn't see any one particular thing that could be causing this. I don't have a picture to send at the moment, but the paper is only catching at the rear corner of the duplex guide, so I don't think this is a sensor or solenoid issue. I went through and replaced those things in my machine in the shop with no change. I thought it possible that the guide may have just been warped (from the heat of the fuser maybe) so I replaced it, no change. And since it only happens on duplex, I also did the modification (per a Bulletin) that properly spaces the solenoid better, to fix some of the jamming issues known to happen on that series. So since I did all that, she was still picking up only the rear corner of the paper.

Sorry, didn't see the other posts. My machine has about 500K on it, and the one before it only had 366K (in my shop)

check the side door alignment and make sure the door latches(main body side) aren't broken. also check to make sure the exit unit is working (top of door) and delivery unit is moving the flip guide fast enough.(inside main body)
