1250p printing pages bot half and completely dark.

Hey so this 1250p I was using all the sudden started to print with half the page just as seen in the first picture. After going into admin mode I ran a couple developer and auto density adjust things. (Don't remember the exact ones but will check if it's important. Probably dumb but it did work before for certain similar situation.) The machine was serviced/cleaned recently so I don't know if it has something to do with that. test prints within the admin mode did not seem to show anything but on rebooting the machine the prints are normal again. Anyone know what happened?

Looks like you may have killed the LPH while cleaning it. It should only be dry wiped with a clean microfiber rag.

I think I have an image of what a failing LED printhead looks like. You get images repeating front to back on your LEF prints, which would be mechanically impossible to do. The LED printhead overheats. Often by the time you arrive for your service call the printhead has cooled down, and works fine upon arrival:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I've always used a blower brush or towel with alcohol to clean the LED printhead. I believe that the vacuum could permanently damage it. =^..^=

Vacuum for sure would be kiss of death. I also killed one using a moist Q-tip. Had results similar to what OP posted.

Not yet, they are stupid expensive. You may have dodged a bullet. If you do end up needing one, let me know. I have some used ones.

I'm as optimistic as the next guy ... but chances are, you'll be ordering it. The symptoms will happen more often and more often, until you cannot pretend anymore. =^..^=

what causes the part to break anyway? just overuse or something else?

I believe the electronics in the printhead overheat. If allowed to cool it often resets, and works for another while. =^..^=
