    Biz 421 / 501 code 2801/2804

Yes believe it or not I still have a customer with this old box. It's a non-profit that don't have a lot of money and does good work for the community. I feel bad because about a month ago they paid me to replace a bad write /laser unit and that bill was around $500.

They now have code 2801 and before that had 2804 code. If i remember correctly it's something with the toner add which service manual confirms?

To make matters worse the account is far away so I would like to bring with me anything that would cause these codes? Precision roller still shows parts available as special order.

If anyone can remember back that far and can let me know what parts I may need it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

You are correct both those codes point to the TCR levels . It could be something as easy as replacing the developer or the TCR sensor itself but could be a add toner problem . Manual says it could also be the toner remaining sensor PZS. It also says it could be the printer control board .
It also could be as simple as off brand toner causing the problem . Which could be fixed with fresh developer and OEM toner
