bizhub c250i annoying noises from the power supply

I wanted to ask if anyone else has the same problem with the power supplies. After the device switches to standby, the power supply makes really annoying noises.
I just unboxed 3 new c250i and the same on all of them.

Buzzing from the power supply has been an on going issue since the C220 series. It's from the fuser lamp turning on and off. This is one of those issues that Kon/Min never fixed. Add it to their noisey fusers, etc that are carried over from old models to the new models, year after year!
Not sure with the newer models but there were bulletins about this issue. Really didn't help much. Might be able to change energy save settings, etc to quiet down?

Yes, today we've met such machine.

Unfortuantely, the old way to deal with annoying PSU noises (Heater Control Level setting) won't work in those machines anymore.
In earlier machine models such as the C308 this setting was set by factory to "Level 2" so you could rise this setting to reduce noises, but now this setting is already set to "Level 4" and there is no place for further changes.

The buzzing humming noise from the c220/224/258 wasn't constantly audible but this high-frequency, permanent up and down modulating tone is permanent 24/7.

I have attached a sound sample. There's a concert in the showroom when I leave all three devices running. It's louder live than on the video.

I can't imagine that your customers would accept this if the device was nearby in the office.
Last spring I received a delivery containing 2-3 devices out of 20 pieces. I replaced the PSU and after that I couldn't hear any more noise. I thought these were isolated cases. But now... I opened a ticket...

This is so brutal can't believe anyone would accept it. Chinese must be dead drunk making that batch of power supplies. Claim them all.

If you set Power Consumption in sleep mode to DISABLED does it help?

No it does not help, I have already tested it because I configure all devices with this setting.

I have now ordered 3 PSUs. I replaced 2 of them and the devices are now completely silent and one PSU is defective because the machine does not start.

ive had graphics cards do capacitor whine.

often adding hot glue to the offending cap has helped

or just disable sleep mode via service mode. i used to do that on 4 series when the resuming from sleep bug was a thing

Ouch! Not very reassuring about these new Kon Min "i" models. They are going down hill fast! This is exactly why I will sell off lease "8" series as long as available.

This is the best way. Turn off sleep mode so just the panel goes off via the low power settings. Noise gone.

Update - unfortuantely for 200V regions only (C,D1,D3,E,F2,G1,I,K,J)

Due to countermeasure for against noise during sleep, the electronic parts (resistor) on "Power supply Assy (200V)" has been changed. [Figure 1]
Due to this, the part number of "Power supply Assy (200V)" has been changed.

Interesting part about "resistor" - so it should be possible to identify differences by comparing old and the new one, then to try to replace parts in old one.

yeah the newer power supplies are shite, to put it mildly.
we've been replacing the power supplies on the new machines (250i/251i) with power supplies from the older machines (224e/258) they are exactly the same supply except the older power supplies are made by Sony and the newer supplies are made by "Power Supply Technology Company" which seems to be some generic Chinese company.

This is great to know. Thanks a bunch!
Do you happen to know if fusers on C250i and C251i are interchangeable. Konica says NO but that means to stock more parts.
