Konica C558 noisy scan from ADF

    Hello everyone
I have a Konica C558 that emits strong gear noises that jumps during the scan from ADF
The jumping gear is the one circled in the photo seems not correctly coupled with the other.

I tried to hold down the upper counter to bring the two gears closer. The noise disappears and works without problems

Is there any technical bulletin for this problem? Has it ever happened to you?

Looks like the gear is just worn to me, if it is, obviously replace both gears.

Of course it could just be the photo, good luck!

Is that gear part of the feed assy wich sits in the df door/cover?

I think I had an issue once that the door seemed closed and locked but the pin for the lock lever was a little bent.

I've had this many times. If the rear latch hook on top cover isn't broken then the rear hinge pin for top cover has come out. Remove rear cover and look where the top cover hinges and you will see the pin has come out and laying below hole it goes in. I put some glue on screw that holds pin in.

I agree, this happens a lot of times, you have to bend the locking pin down a little bit.

            Thanks everyone for the reply

I removed the two screws and the two pins that keep the upper counter stop
When I reassembled everything by tightening the two screws well that are fixed on the two pins the problem has disappeared.

Tomorrow morning I do more tests to be sure that the problem does not appear.
