C224e strange message

Hello,

One C224e showed " enter serial number ", after I initialized the machine and rewrote firmware, it recovered.
I found " fax is unavailable " displayed, but the machine don't have fax kit and System 2->option board->fax 1 /fax 2->unset.

How can I solve it?

Battery of the NVRAM on MFP Board empty. Needs new MFP board.

Agree that the NVRAM battery is bad. Check under trouble isolation it the fax option is set if so unset it.

I checked trouble isolation and all unset.

Agree that the memory battery is bad or going bad. No need to replace MFP board. You can just replace the battery. Solder in the new battery before removing the old one. This way you wont lose all the counters & serial #'s

Try the NVRam reset tool this can help.
