Bizhub C368 Reboots on large copy job

    Hey guys,

A copy job of 99+ pages was done on this C368 and halfway through printing the job, it rebooted and started the job over again, wasting paper and toner. I checked the hard drive and did a full self-diag, and everything looked fine. No codes besides E4-2, which I hear is normal if you don't have an external memory unit installed. I checked the related counters, and there were no details other than it rebooted. The service manual doesn't have anything to say about this from what I've seen. Any tips?

    Thanks

Have you tried running the copier's self diagnostic mode?

    1. Power off copier
    2. Hold down power button on screen.
    3. Power on copier.
    4. Wait for black dot on the corner of the display
    5. Let go of the power button
    6. Once it boots and the start light turns blue, hit start.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

This sounds a lot like a C-2557 situation. As the toner density lowers it will eventually code out. If you don't happen to be standing there at the moment it happens, you won't see the code. Then it will automatically reboot, and during initialization it may acquire enough toner to start printing again, from the beginning.

To be sure the error is displayed and recorded go to System2 > Internal Error. Auto Cancel > set Rank B & Rank C to NO.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        No trouble codes in history?
At what firmware and function version is machine?
Does it restart on certain print job/file?

Does the C368 literally restart while a job is running so when it powers back on it has a jam etc ?
