Konica 7040 Fuser won't activate, spin

Okay, machine shows no error. Run a copy and the fuser does not turn at all. Paper just stops before fuser, just past drum. Shows Jam J-31-0, fixing exit sensor not turning on (duh!).

Any ideas as to why fuser won't spin?

    Thanks

The most likely possible cause of the problem would be broken fuser gear.

All fuser gears are fine. I pulled it out and they are all just fine. I can spin it by hand, but for some reason it seems to not get the signal to turn on.

      Thanks

Drive gear in the machine itself. Your fuser is fine.

Coptech is right, take the back off the machine and check the fuser drive gears on the main body ,it's not the fuser, the fuser gets drive from the main motor it does'nt have a separate drive motor and since the paper is traveling to the fuser its the drive.....good luck

If this problem started after the fuser had been service, it is possible the press roller release levers are in the lower/release position, looking at it with the front door open it would appear the fuser is not turning because the green knob doesn't turn. The levers are small metal tabs located at the lower left and right side of the fuser when viewing it from the exit.

              -additional info.-

if the paper jam before fixing unit and stop in the transport unit check the gears of the transport unit.
if the paper jam and stop on the entrance plate of the fixing unit pepper38_cnd is right follow the instructions.

              good luck.
