    [Dead] Bizhub C451

I have a Bizhub C451 totally down asking for the fuser unit.
after warming up machine Freeze asking for the Fusing unit,
I have access to service mode, but no more.
I tried a 1/16 Amp fuse and 0.080 mA fuse directly into the control board
but shows service code "3461" (Release new fusing unit.) and still dead.

    Please, any help is welcome

Geeze, spam is pretty bad in this forum. Ignore the riffraff and their useless help.

The fuser itself has a pico fuse under the cover on the left side (on end where the connector is).

Cross your fingers and pray you didn't fry the PRCB, which I suspect you may have done.

And a side note, personal experience with these machines (many), when the fuser count reaches end of life, it is pretty much at end of life and really should be replaced.

Paul thanks for your input but I have the service manuals.

        StirtonThanks for you replay
I have a good question for you:
Do you know How to troubleshoot or check the Control Board (PRCB) for this issue, or probably a Firmware upgrade that let manually clear the Fuser counter?

Sorry if the question sound stupid but I'm running out of ideas and the Copier still down.

        Regards

        Gabriel

There is no manually clearing of the fuser count. Changing the fuser with a new one (preferably) or replacing the pico fuse as mentioned. Latest firmware level on the machine is R6 (though truth be told, R5 is displayed in the firmware screen). Sadly this will likely not resolve the problem you are having.

You could check the ICPs on the PRCB to check to see if any of them are blown. (ICP is Integrated circuit protector), fancy word for fuse. Many KM boards, these are white surface mount things, not very large at all. They can be mistaken for surface mount capacitors or resistors by the casual observer. Typically they can be found around the outside areas of the board, usually close to connectors. They have zero resistance, obviously since they are fuses. If you find an open, the ICP must be replaced. If you are fortunate, you might be able to source the part (these are specialist fuses), but the board should be sent in to a repair center to be properly looked at. In some cases, just because an ICP survived, doesn't mean the chip did. Or for that matter, the chip could be toasted in spite of the ICP being blown also.

My immediate suggestion is to put a new fuser in to at least eliminate that from the equation. If the machine initializes properly, you should be good to go. If not...its the board that needs to be replaced.

Thank you very much, for the explanation, This is my second machine with this problem and I have in stock a brand new fuser unit, same problem, No count clearing
I 'll bring the copier to the Shop to troubleshoot it and post the results.
