bizhub 350 scanning using glass

we had a tech out to service the copier now we found out after he left we can't scan using the glass but we can using adf

What happens when you try? Does it just tell you to load ADF? in which case the adf lift sensor is probably stuck so it doesnt recognize you putting an original on the glass. Or are you getting some message or error?

error message im not sure what it is right now i'm on the road away from the copier

If you don't fully open the feeder to disengage the switch in the rear, it will give you that message, if memory serves me correctly. Is the switch stuck down? It's a plastic arm that protrudes upward rear of the glass.
