    Bizhub C352 Hour Glass Only

Turn the machine on, only the hour glass comes up and does not go away. Sounds like everything is going through normal warm up, no errors, just hour glass.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Have you tried the basics? Firmware, for example?

Has anything changed within the machine? Say like a board or something?
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Try firmware first, it could be the NV-RAM board or even the main pcb.

Are you authorized KonMin service? It's probably the NVRAM. They may try to sell you main board. It usually Nvram.

Most likely firmware or NVRAM. Have you tried doing a trouble reset?

Is it safe to reformat the HDD on this unit? Will I lose any settings or FW?

That's not necessarily true mo0651. If you hold Utility (to get the trouble reset menu to come up,) and then simply press stop + 0 + 0 + stop + 0 + 1, you can enter service mode and reformat the hard drive if you see fit (or even disable it altogether.)

                    Now lines on copies

Okay, reformatted physical and logical. Machine boots fine, still hangs once in a while, as was said, possibly firmware and I will have to deal with that in a bit. Now the copies coming out were beautiful, then suddenly lines showed up going across the entire page, a few millimeters apart and it does not matter whether it is copy or print, black and white or color. I pulled the transfer assembly, cleaned everything, still the lines persist. When I run a white page and stop it half way through getting past the belt the lines are on the half that have gone past. Did something just completely fail on the belt or is there possibly something else amiss here?

                    Thanks all!

Probably a good idea to make another thread. Most of the people looking at this will be trying to help you solve your hourglass issue only. Glad to hear that issue was resolved.

I just did a minute ago, great minds think alike! (not sure why I include myself in that though!)

I have never had missed a step in the set-up of this model. What does the error pattern look like on this machine? Squares or the lines like on the newer colors? It sounds like the nvram reset and you need to do the setup procedure. Interesting
