    [Error Code] Bizhub 420 c-2403 c-6701

Hi all and thanks a lot for your reply.
Today my customer called us for a biz 420 showing up a c-2403.
I replaced PS23 (it was not correctly aligned with his support) and, after 4 copies, the machine showed up a c-6701.
I reseated the flat cable between oacb and ccdb a lot of times, but no lucky, same error.
Anyone here has experienced the same issue?
    Anyone here has solved?

Sorry for the silly question but, did you tried a trouble reset to clear the C 6701 code?
I've seen it only 2 times on a BH 501, and it had always gone away in this mode...

Usually reseating the flat cable works. I would clean the end of it , looking for corrosion. You may have to replace the board if corrosion got to the connector.

we have had this error alot. It could be the toner bottle is not installed right. the ring that the bottle fits in to need to be updated with new part.
try doing a trouble reset then take the bottle out before you reboot. and install it when it comes up.

              Bad news, bad news....
Today i went to my customer and i had a chance to replace the original flat ribbon with another: no lucky.
              Same c-6701.
reseated the connection 5/6 times, performed trouble reset but nothing...

In my mind there is another doubt:
can a bad clutch (registration section) or a bad sensor (PS28) destroy an oacb?

Check ICP3 on OACB (left of the ribbon connector).
If the ICP3 is open, replace the OACB.
If not, take a look at the scanner section (CCD).

OK. Many thanks to all of you.
Now i've buyied another used BH420 for parts swapping (OACB+Flat+CCDB)
My doubt is: can a bad clutch (registration section) or a bad sensor (PS28) can damage again an oacb?
So, it is better to change again all the parts between the working and the errored copier, or it's better to swap the only oacb?

                      Please.... still no reply?
I must know if it's better to swap the only electronic board between the 2 copiers (OACB+CCDB+flat) or it's better to swap again all the parts, including toner bottle rotation sensor (PS28) + registration clutch. In short: can a bad clucth or a bad sensor kill an OACB?

No, a bad clutch will not make the board bad. Just change the board.

Also on that note if you are now getting reg jams, you should check the solenoid attached to the toner supply unit, if wrong screws are used to put solenoid on unit you will short solenoid to frame, take out the printer board and cause reg jams. Screws are shorty mcshort short screws.. only long enough to attach solenoid to supply unit frame.

                          Regards!

                            Thanks a lot copytechman.
Thanks to your post I realized that I have replaced the registration section unnecessarily. I certainly confused the screws that secure the motor (M1 I seem to remember) that must be disassembled to get to remove the toner supply unit. You're talking about those, right?

No, i'm talking about the (2 short) screws that attach the toner add solenoid to the toner supply unit, not the screws that secure the m1 motor to the body of the machine.
