    FS-1128 scan lead edge cutoff.

u068 and u071 are on max negative, but the image has crept up even more since few weeks ago when the adjustment was done.

Couldnt find QA, nor related documentation on this. Well there is one, but it says when "scanning position is off". Base on description of that QA the image is late, not early.

    Print is perfect however.

    any encounter on this?

Does it affect DF and OC images equally? How about scans?

Just throwing this out there: Way back we had a couple of techs that liked to oil the photointerrupters (including scanner home position and registration). Genius at work. Oil is good for everything, yes? The result was scanner registration varying all over the place and slamming. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Off the glass is ok, but by DF is consistently ahead by around an 3/4 to 1 inch by eye. It doesnt only happen on the first page, happens on every page.
      AND
this lil' annoying glitch stays with the machine, doesnt follow the DF when we swapped it with another.

If it stays with the machine, I would try the scanner board first, then the Main PWB. It sounds to me like you've already thought of that. =^..^=

The grease on the shaft of the scanner gets sticky & dry. I'd clean it with alcohol & oil it before doing any boards.
            Hope that helps !
