    New Color Machines, TASKalfa 500ci, 400ci, 300ci, 250ci

Did anyone else see the new Saturn color machines at the Kyocera kickoff last week? They should be available this December in the US. The model numbers will be TASKalfa 500ci, 400ci, 300ci, 250ci.

All 4 machines were all up and running on display and looked really good. All black design with some silver accents, 8bit color with a new microfine toner. Very similar accessories to the current lineup except for the black covers and there is now two different doc feed options (dual scan or RADF).

The samples they were printing off looked great. For the fist time ever, I was actually impressed with the print quality coming from a Kyocera color machine. I think it looks as good or better then the current stuff from Konica Minolta but I can't be sure until I get them side by side in a showroom. it is definitely an improvement of the Voyager print quality.

    TASKalfa 500ci = 50ppm color / 40ppm mono
    TASKalfa 400ci = 40ppm color / 40ppm mono
    TASKalfa 300ci = 30ppm color / 30ppm mono
    TASKalfa 250ci = 25ppm color / 25ppm mono

They showed a bunch of other stuff including the replacements for the KM-6030 and 8030 which should launch in the spring of 2009.

              Time will learn

I'm not a fan of entire black machines, but so what, when quality is OK and is improved against the old machines then i m happy.

              Couldn't be worst

I like the all black design. Its going to save alot of my time scrubing those ink pen marks off.
I was very impressed with the new color line. It looked good and the copy quality was very impresive. I was talking to Keith Mcmanus about them before the dinner over at the bar the second night and he was telling us about all the new technology that went into this machine and it sounded like kyocera finally got their act together on the color thing. I tried telling him color was just a fad and wouldnt last to the end of the year but he swares color is the way to go...... bahhh humbug.

I trained on the TaskAlfa in December and they really are good machines. The operation panel is sorta like the KM4050 and the inside is an updated version of the C3232E. I really liked them and can't wait to get a few in and really check them out. It should be a good improvement to the Kyocera line.

we got ours in at the end of December...we have been enjoying it. we are going to put it in our printshop to replace a Minolta (yeah!). the print shop operator are really excited to be getting this. it puts the Minolta to shame.

We've had one in the field for a week. So far so good. We all know if anyone can screw it up, it'll be an end user.
                          Hope that helps !

                            Guys,
I havent seen a new taskalfa yet, but althought that some things are finally ok (like color touch panel, nice design, one network cable, new toner etc.), lets be honest.... some other problems still left.

                            These are:
                            - no A3+ format
                            - max. 120 ib index from bypass ( its a joke? )
                            - no physical 1200 dpi
                            - no baner printing (?)
                            - no printing without margin (?)

I dont know what about you, but in my area, these are very important problems, which make our sale DOWN with Kyocera.

Trust me. I am very passionable about Kyocera, but meanwhile stay in distance to these new machines, as long as Kyocera is not going to put on pipe a new color MFP, which simply answer the real customer needs, and not only to 'paint' old one into the black.

Yes, yes, I heard about new technicals changes as well

What really like is that 3 years warranty. Happy to see Kyocera taking responsibility for their products. Will see, if in Europe as well ?

Sorry, but you get what you pay for - kyocera colour are cheap for a reason and thats why you see more colour machines going into customers than black and white. If you want more features buy a canon, minolta or ricoh that cost a lot more. You can't have it all at a cheap price!
